Lavazza Donates New Coffee Shop Equipment to 2Fish

December 1, 2021 - A Cup of Learning Did you know that Lavazza has the world’s largest coffee training schools in the world? Today, Lavazza has more than 50 training centers globally, teaching independent cafés and restaurant owners how to serve an authentic espresso-based beverage and become a certified barista. In 2017, Lavazza established a new coffee training program as an extension of the training centers called “A Cup of Learning”. The Cup of Learning training program focuses on outreach opportunities for individuals who come from society’s most underprivileged groups. Through A Cup of Learning training program, Lavazza shares its knowledge from local Lavazza Training Center experts by providing barista training to those who are searching for new opportunities within their local communities. On November 3, Frank LaRusso and team welcomed members from the Two Fish and Five Loaves Community Café located at the Melton Center in downtown West Chester, PA. The team worked with eight members over 3 days with the goal that each participant would become a certified Lavazza café barista. We are happy to announce that on November 6, all eight individuals who participated graduated from the training program and received their first barista training certificate. As part of A Cup of Learning training program, the Lavazza Foundation generously donated new coffee shop equipment to Two Fish and Five Loaves Community Café. This kind donation will help kick start a beautiful community venture where the students from the Cup of Learning program will help to setup a new community café in downtown West Chester. Today, Lavazza has done A Cup of Learning in over 8 countries, has trained, and has certified more than 120 individuals who come from underprivileged areas and backgrounds. We look forward to welcoming the next Cup of Learning class. If you are interested in volunteering or want to help make a difference with the Cup of Learning training program, reach out to Frank LaRusso for upcoming opportunities.
